Salman Khan Is All Set To Become Mama For The Second Time
On the final day of the Asian Athletics Championship in Bhubaneswar, with nine medals (five gold, one silver and three bronze) India finished on top of the medals tally, easily beating China and Kazakhstan who took the second and third spots respectively.
A total of 29 medals, with as many as 12 golds ensured this was India’s best performance at the championship.
Dutee Chand run the 100m semis. Nirmala Sheoran and Muhammad Anas powered their way to 400m golds while Ajay Kumar Saroj and then Chitra PU stunned the stadium with gold medals in the 1500m; 4 golds on the day
Now the total is six gold, three silver and six bronze and there is still two days of action to come.
Among those who won the silver medal includes- V Neena, Rajiv Arokia, Tejinder Pal Singh Toor. While those who won the bronze includes Dutee Chand, Jisna Mathew among others.
Young Neeraj Chopra’s effort where he bagged the gold in the javelin throw. Neeraj threw an impressive 85.23 m to win the medal.
Archana Yadav was another athlete who finished on the podium after a win in the 800m race (women’s). After winning she spoke to the media and said, "It is my first international medal at the senior international level, so I am very happy. I thank my God, my coach and my mum,” “I am preparing for the World Championships, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games. I want to win more medals,” she added. Meanwhile, behind India, second in place was China who finished this edition with 8 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze.
They were followed by Kazakhstan (8) Iran (5). and Vietnam (4 ).
