Just the dress was this expensive... How expensive was the wedding?

Wedding Day

Wedding Day

It's the wedding of the year even though it happened at the end of the year. India's favourite couple Virushka are now officially married. Years of are they together are they not and are they marrying or are they not have resulted in this.

Just look how happy they look. The wedding of the year is not easy on the pockets though. There is a lot of money that goes into every little thing. You have probably heard all about Anushka Sharma's dress, but do you know what Virat was wearing?

Wedding Of The Year

Both Anushka and Virat were dressed by iconic Indian brand Sabyasachi. They both matched and lit up the room as soon as they walked in. It’s not every day that we see Virat Kohli donning a sherwani. The last time we saw him wearing a sherwani was in the advertisement for Manyavar which became very popular because of Virushka’s brilliant on-screen chemistry.

Both of their clothes were designed to complement each other. This made it possible for the bride and groom to always look picture perfect.

The Sherwani

The Sherwani

According to Sabyasachi’s Instagram page, Virat Kohli wore an Ivory raw silk sherwani hand-embroidered in a vintage Benarasi pattern and signature House buttons with an old Rose silk Kota safa. The accessories, which include Safa, stroll and footwear, were also designed by Sabyasachi.

In place of jewellery, Virat carried an embroidered stole (or dupatta). The gold, zardosi work on his sherwani made his look even more classy, in fact, it was as royal as it could be.
But how much does the whole thing cost? The amount is simply unbelievable...

Cost

Reportedly, Virat Kohli’s wedding sherwani cost around INR 40 lakh. That is quite a lot of money spent on just the sherwani. Can we even begin to imagine how much the whole affair cost?

At the end of the day we just want the couple to be happy. We wish Virushka all the luck in the world.
