Salman Khan Is All Set To Become Mama For The Second Time
When the entire world was busy waiting for 2017, several women in Bengaluru were busy finding help and praying for their safety. In what can be regarded as the most disappointing event of the year, women were molested like no ones business in Bengaluru on the night of 31st December.
As 2016 came to a close, Bengalureans decided to ring in the new year on Saturday night at MG Road and Brigade Road which are possibly the most popular areas to be at on NYE.
The crowd was in thousands and not many were decent. Majority of the crowd was drunk and under the influence of alcohol. Bengaluru city police took strict measures to ensure that such untoward incidents do not occur but well, they anyways did.
If reports are to be believed, closer to midnight "hooligans in the garb of revelers started pawing, molesting and passing lewd remarks on women on the streets, forcing some of them to literally take off their stilettos and run for help," said the report. Now this does not sound good does it? Wanna know how many complaints were lodged for the same? You'll be shocked to see the number.
Keep reading ahead to see that.
“I personally went and asked one of the cops deployed on the streets to go to the aid of two women being accosted by a group of youth on MG Road. He went and chased them but they were back to the spot in a couple of minutes. There was nothing much that they could do as the group was back and the women were also in the same crowd,” said a working professional who was walking down MG Road. We have more such shocking quotes by people present at the scene.
Unbelievably, not even a single complaint was lodged regarding this incident. “We got around 450 calls at the city control room when on Saturday night, especially after 10 pm till wee hours in the morning, and not even one was about women being assaulted or molested,” said Nagendra Kumar, deputy commissioner of police.
More than the incident, the reaction of victims is shocking! I wonder when will our country grow up and people here will start respecting other human beings and start taking stands for themselves.
