Railway accidents have become India's favorite in 2016. Months ago, we witnessed one of the most brutal accidents ever on tracks when 14 coaches of Indore-Patna Express derailed at Pukhrayan near Kanpur.
The casualties were massive and around 150 people were killed and over 200 were injured. And now, right on the musky dawn of the new years, another accident made its way in 2016.
The Sealdah-Ajmer Express (12987) was derailed this morning at around 6am in Rura near Kanpur. As many as 13 bogies derailed and fell into a Canal leaving so many injured.
Reports suggest that almost 45 people are injured badly and 2 deaths are reported as well. This is the third such incident in recent weeks, which has worried the officials about the condition of the ageing railway network in India.
