They say Day 1 is dedicated to yellow. The reason behind this is fairly simple. Yellow is believed to be the colour of the sun and is dedicated to Maa Shailputri.
It is the color of energy and happiness! So Day 1 is for Yellow!
Day 2 is for color Green. They say that this day is dedicated to Maa Brahmacharini and is more about harmony and peace, which is why green is the color to go for.
And grey is believed to be the color for Day 3. Maa Chandraghanta is worshiped on this day. She resembles peace and serenity and the colour grey is worn on this day as it is associated with a cool and extremely balanced mind.
They wear orange on Day 4. On this day, goddess Kushmanda is worshiped. Orange is associated with creativity and enthusiasm and therefore it is the color of Day 4.
On this day, people wear white because it represents purity and peace. Maa Skandamata is worshiped on this day.
Day 6 is all about Red. This is day when goddess Katyayani is worshiped. Red is the colour to be worn on this day as red signifies power and brightness. It's all about what a color signifies!
On this day, Mata Kaalratri is worshiped. Blue is the color that signifies power and superiority and therefore they wear blue on day 7.
Day 8 is Mata Saraswati's Day. On this special day wear pink since it's associated with romanticism and universal love. I know what I am wearing on this ashtami.
Diddhidatri Mata is worshiped on the final day of Navratri. The colour purple symbolizes luxury, power and royalty and therefore you wear clothes of that color on the final day of Navratri!
