#6 Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Aurangzeb.

Tanu was already a breath of fresh air in the 2011 surprise hit Tanu Weds Manu, but its 2015 sequel – Tanu Weds Manu Returns knocked the socks out of everyone. Kangana Ranaut‘s superlative performance as Datto and Tanu won her acclaim, love and a National Award.

Whereas, Aurangzeb didn't put a show at all for the audience.

#5 Piku and Housefull 3

Deepika Padukone wooed everyone with her simple and effective performance as Piku in Shoojit Sircar's Piku. The comedy-drama also starred Amitabh Bachchan as Piku's cranky old father and Irrfan Khan as her potential love interest, but there’s no denying that this movie belonged to Deepika and she carried the movie completely on her shoulders.

Housefull 3 was a forced comedy with its cheesy one liners it wasn't enough to woo the audience.

#4 English Vinglish and Sarkar 3

#4 English Vinglish and Sarkar 3

Now THIS is called a comeback. One of the most successful actresses in India, Sridevi returned to the big screen and won hearts with Gauri Shinde‘s English Vinglish. The submissive, not so confident Shashi taught her family and the audience to judge less and love more. The movie is now considered a cult classic and for good reason.

When was the last time an Amitabh Bachchan starrer made so little money?
Sarkar 3 was expected to be big hit as the legend Amitabh was the lead. Sadly, it only made Rs 9.50 crore on the Box Office.

#3 Neerja and Azhar

#3 Neerja and Azhar

Ram Madhvani‘s 2016 offering Neerja showed us what a performer Sonam Kapoor is if she’s given the right role. Based on the heroic act by Neerja Bhanot, who prevented a hijack attempt in 1986 but lost her life in the process, Neerja was a heart-wrenching watch and not a single person left the theater dry-eyed.

Azhar was expected to be a hit and everyone was expecting a strong comeback from Emraan but that didn’t happen. Despite being heavily promoted, the movie got off to an average opening.

#2 The Dirty Picture and Aa Gaya Hero.

#2 The Dirty Picture and Aa Gaya Hero.

Vidya Balan's performance as Silk in The Dirty Picture opened doors for badass female characters in Bollywood. Where else will you see a girl whipping herself in order to get attention as a background dancer? Vidya Balan changed the game with this film and reminded us all that curves are sexy!

Govinda had hoped that his comeback film that was in the making for several years would salvage his career. Sadly, it was a disaster.

#1 Pink and Great Grand Masti.

#1 Pink and Great Grand Masti.

Pink turned out to be a breakout film for Taapsee Pannu, who hadn’t been able to find a clear footing in Bollywood before that. The movie changed the way the audience and the industry saw her. As the de facto ‘leader’ of the women who escape sexual assault, Pink played an important part in making consent, sex and feminism an important discussion in our country.

The makers of adult-comedy 'Great Grand Masti' said that the online leakage of the film three weeks before its release has 'killed' the movie and they have suffered 'huge' losses.
